Student Lectures

Student Lecture

The Washington State University OSA student chapter began the Graduate Student Lecturer program during the Spring semester 2011. Besides lunch, which attracts even the busiest students, the program gives young researchers in our department a chance to present work to their peers. Students explain in detail what they’ve actually been doing in their lab. In order to create a low-stress environment, no professors are allowed.

Lectures take place once a month during the academic year. Any graduate student who volunteers may present his or her research. Presenters are asked to prepare roughly 30 minutes of slides, leaving time for interruptions, discussion, and questions.
